Parenting can be difficult for people from all social backgrounds and for a wide range of reasons. The perinatal period (from conception to the age of two) can be particularly challenging.
The good news is that we know that having the right psychological and emotional support in this period provides a unique window of opportunity to successfully support parents in their goal to parent emotionally healthy and resilient children
Do you feel concerned and anxious about becoming a parent and need support?
Are you struggling to bond with your baby?
How can we help you?
When you first contact NorPIP one of our staff members will meet you to talk about the concerns you have and discuss the support NorPIP can offer.
We like to make our services as accessible as possible and so we try to provide flexibility as to the venue, location and timing of your sessions.
If parents/main carers decide NorPIP may be of some help we will arrange to meet them with their baby for 50 minutes once a week.
Parent-Infant therapy enables you to gain a deeper understanding of your parenting style and discover new ways of thinking about your baby, your relationship with him or her and how to meet his or her emotional and developmental needs.
