Katie Bailey

Parent Infant Therapist

Flourishing Babies Project

Katie joined NorPIP in July 2015. She is passionate about the importance of offering early therapeutic support to babies and parents where there is a struggle. This interest developed whilst working as an Occupational Therapist in adult mental health and CAMHS and observing links to early experiences.

She undertook her Parent Infant Therapy Training and Infant Observation with OxPIP (2015 – 2017) (which is accredited by APPCIOS). Katie is in the final stages of training to become a guider in Video Interactive Guidance.

Katie originally qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1988 and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Katie worked as a Specialist Occupational Therapist in mental health for 30 years within the NHS (Adult and CAMHS) and independently. She has extensive experience both in individual, parent/child, group and family work.

Katie completed a two-year Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling from Leicester University in 2003 and a one year Introductory Course in Group Analytic Psychotherapy 1993-1994) which included an analytic perspective of the models of Family Therapy.

She has also worked as an O.T. offering Sensory Attachment Intervention to adopted and fostered children and parents.
